This forum has been setup for users to discuss/write about the version 6 release of SP Membership.

I like it :-) It feels more intuitive and less clunky than the old version. I particularly like the drop-down menus, rather than the side navigation.
I would like to know what other associations are using the new on line version and are they having problems. Feel free to contact me on 9847 2314.

I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY ALL CATEGORIES CAN,T BE SEARCHABLE LIKE IN EXCEL, AND NOT JUST THE ONES YOU THINK WE NEED,
IE: I WOULD LIKE AN EXTRA TICK BOX IN THE MAIN MEMBERS LIST THAT IS AUTOMATICALLY TICKED WHEN A PHOTO HAS BEEN TAKEN OR UPLOADED, THIS WOULD MAKE EASIER AND SAVE A LOT OF TIME,
ALSO BEING ABLE TO SEARCH BY EMAIL SO WE CAN SEE WHO HAS OR HAS NOT EMAIL REGISTERED.
I am part of a club over in NZ and am trying to set up access to our database. We operate 3 levels - Admin (me), Grade convenors and team managers. I can see how to give team managers access to update scores but would like them to be able to use the communicator too. Would also like the convenors to be able to access only their grade info. When I give access to someone via their passport it is either full or read only.
If the national associations can limit what access we have, why can't we limit access to our hierarchy?
The new website has taken a bit to get used to, have several improvements to suggest! I have a number of saved reports that I use on a daily basis but it is a long winded process to get to them. Would be nice to have a Saved Reports button on the side menu.
When processing player payments it is painfully slow. We are lucky in that most people pay via paypal but it takes a couple of minutes per player. Not good when you are processing more than 10 a day.
Would be nice to have hyperlinks back to the player record from reports - eg when reconciling player payments run a report on unpaid transactions, click on player name takes you straight into the player transaction screen for fast updating. Same with clearances.
Can we reduce the number of clubs that we have to scroll through when trying to set up clearances - or prioritise them? Currently in alphabetical order but some of our more frequently used clubs may start with a W. Again a lot of scrolling and work when you are doing multiples per day.
While the website looks good from a functionality viewpoint it isn't fantastic. Most people running clubs are volunteers who don't have hours to go through updating payments/members/clearances etc which at this time of the year (Soccer - pre season) is very busy.
Would also like to have the ability to refund fees that have been paid via PayPal. Have raised this with our local association today as well. When a member pays via paypal Sporting Pulse deducts their fee and then the payment is transferred to Paypal. At this stage we have no ability to refund via that same method. If I was to refund someone using my personal Paypal account all the fees charged would be automatically refunded meaning no loss to either party. At the moment we are looking at having to refund via our bank account and either deducting that fee from the refund as an "admin" fee or wearing the loss. Most clubs are just scraping by financially and that is an unnecessary expense to incur.
Would be nice to have some answers to the above!

There are some really good thoughts here (I particularly like the quick link to saved reports). We're taking them all into consideration for future improvements to the program.
